Just installed ssd

Postby marcelozaz » Sat Dec 17, 2016 10:02 pm

Hello everyone, I just installed ssd to the fusion and I am very happy. The difference is noticeable as it loads the sounds faster, much faster and also starts faster, also does not raise temperature, is quieter and lighter now, really recommended, sometime I will upload a video. Greetings!

Which SSD drive did you install as the previous tests indicated the hard drive was faster?

SSD brand and specs please

Thanks ... Jesse

Congrats marcelozaz . . .

glad you are happy with the result. I've been running my 8HD (8SSD) for over 2 years with no problems.

I've just acquired a 6HD and am about to add the E3 modules and do the SSD upgrade as well.

(Just need to fix one non-working key)

I found there seems to be (actually) little difference in loading speed with the SSD.

I think that the Fusion's disk controller is preventing what should be (and we would expect) a faster speed due to using an SSD - but, no matter.

It seems to work well, and is quieter, lighter (a little) and kinder to the PSU . .

PLUS - the SSD won't break if you knock it or drop it if you are "gigging" with it . . . .

I look forward to seeing your video if you have time . . .

I just purchased my 6HD a couple months ago and have added the E3 modules as well as the SSD.

I havent noticed any major change int eh loading times, but I do like that I can leave it on for several hours and it doesnt seem like the thing is overly hot. The screen still gets a little color bleed, but nothing major, and then when changing presets etc, the screen fixes itself.

As for the Memory upgrade, I can't say I've noticed a big difference either, however I only played it for a week or so before I upgraded so my perception of change might be skewed.

Still loving all the possibilities that this keyboard offers...now its just figuring out how to make the most of it. ;-)

Arevyn, the extra memory won't load sounds faster initially, but it allows you to load more sounds into memory and once in memory you can quickly switch between the sounds loaded in memory :)
