software editor

I would like to see some software bundled with the fusion. A patch editor would be nice for multi-samples. I don't think Alesis has had any real need for this kind of feature with their previous keyboards, but if they're trying to be OAYSIS competition that little blue screen might not cut it and having software would be the best answer to Korg and Roland's huge color screens.

Thanks for the info, I'm glad they added that feature before I bought one.

I guess what I really want is that slick graphic interface that I've grown so accustomed to using software synths like Reason. I think it was a good decision not to go crazy with the built in screen as it kept the price down and seems more than adequate for live performances. but I would like to take it home, plug it into the computer, and be able to view the entire set of parameters for either the VA, FM, or PM all at once, not burried in all those menus. The Nord modular has this feature. You can create your patch on the computer and then store them in your synth. it's pretty sweet.

Alesis Please! Release a software editor for the Fusion

Postby ChrisJ » Sun Mar 19, 2006 5:28 am

Since the Fusion was announced in 2005, I had an eye on in.
In the next time I will get one, because it is the best Workstation to get at this moment for this price and with this great options, the ohters like Roland, Korg, Yamaha, have to think about their products and priceing!

But a big point to make the Fusion to an bestseller is, to release an Software Editor for it! Please release it for us!!!

A big compliment to Alesis for the support and keeping an ear to the users, to all here in the forum, that give this instrument an life.
3 Years ago I sold an FantomS and I was happy, but the Support of Roland stoped to soon :-( I´m realy disappoited about that, and I got the feelin, that Roland never got an ear to the customers and users in the forums and emails.

Alesis you´re on the best way to go on top and definey the word of "customer service" new, in the musicans equipment area!!!

Greetings
Chris

How about some open source so third parties can start writing software to integrate with the Fusion?

I would also vote for a software editor.

No matter how intuitive an interface is, it is never as easy or as quick as editing from a PC once you become proficient in both.

An editor would probably lead to a lot more sound banks, and likely a lot better quality too. Well I would definitely produce a bunch of banks myself with a software editor, at the very least :)

Software editor for Fusion?

Postby happyscientist » Fri Feb 22, 2008 5:37 pm

So does anything like this exist yet?
It's surprising that no one invested anything in such a project.
I don't see the system exclusive commands in the manual, but
it does say that sysex commands are sent and received.
Someone could theoretically reverse engineer the thing.
How many of these suckers were sold?
Thanks!

I actually don't see the big problem there. Ok, I myself am not good enough in programming to create a sound editor but since all the programmes in the fusion can easily be copied to the PC. Where should the fundamental problem be in writing a patch editor? If there's a file you can change it. Well, of course you won't be able to instantly hear the result but the fine tuning still can be done with the fusion itself.
